Sadie Amara Calvano has become famous for the role of Violet Plunkett that she played on the CBS sitcom Mom. Calvano has a family in California she was initially interested in competitive gymnastics. She later decided to pursue an acting career. The first time she appeared on screen was in 2010 in an Episode of CBS's 'NCIS. In the crime drama biographical movie J Edgar, she made her first appearance on the big screen a just a few months later. Over the years she's been recognized among the most promising young actresses in the industry today. For her performance in 'NCIS', she was awarded a Young Artist Award for Best Performance on a Television Series Guest-starring Young Actress 11-15 years old in the year 2011. She was also nominated in 2013 for a Young Artist Award, this time due to her performance as a guest on Disney XD's comedic series "Kickin' it". Calvano played a major role in "Mom", the series the first three seasons of, as well as making appearances on several episodes of Season 4. Calvano's performance being a rising star on Mom earned her an award called the Gracie Allen Award, which is given to outstanding female actors.
