Anna Leigh Ashford
Annaleigh Amanda Ashford (born April 14 20th, 1980) was an American actress, singer and dancer. The first Broadway parts comprise Wicked Legally Blonde & Hair. In You Can't Take It With You She was the recipient of the Tony Award as Best Featured actor in the Play. Tony Award-winning actress Annaleigh Ashford is a veteran of her time working with some of the most acclaimed actors, directors, and stage performers across film and television and she is continuing to work on award-winning projects with numerous upcoming projects. Ashford's upcoming project is a limited edition Hulu series called Welcome to Chippendales, created by Robert Siegel. The show will premiere on the 22nd of November and Ashford will be starring opposite Kumail Najiani. Ashford's latest project is Searchlight Pictures horror thriller Dust and starring Sarah Paulson and Ebonmoss-Bachrach. The film will stream through Disney's DTC platforms as a Hulu Original. In March of 2023 Ashford is scheduled to return to Broadway and will be starring alongside Josh Groban in the revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Thomas Kail, director and producer of Hamilton will direct the production. Ashford was Paula Jones most recently in Ryan Murphy's American Crime Story Impeachment, which is a remake of the story in which Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp was the lead character of the initial impeachment proceedings in America. Ashford was a part of two seasons on the hit CBS comedy B Positive. Created by Marco Pennette and Chuck Lorre the show also starred famous actors Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo and Ben Vereen.No new to Broadway Ashford won the Tony Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for her portrayal of Essie In You Can't Take It with You. Her additional Broadway credits include Sunday in the Park with George Wicked Legally Blonde and her first role as Lauren for Kinky Boots a performance for which she also received a Tony Award nomination. Her birthplace and childhood was in Denver Ashford is now dividing her time between Los Angeles and New York.
